Victory!

Luke 24:1-4

Praise God we have a Savior who willingly went to the cross so that we could live.  We have a Savior, who even as He neared His last breath, continued to love the people He was in contact with.  We have a Savior who suffered at the hands of humans - the very reason He came to earth.  We have a Savior who loves.  We have a Savior who conquered death and has the victory eternal!  This not just a physical death that He conquered, Christ's resurrection has victory over any death - including emotional and spiritual.  We celebrate not only His love He poured out on all of us the day He died; we celebrate the amazing power and victory He has over death!  Please turn to Luke 24:1-4.

"Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive?  He isn't here! He is risen from the dead!" Luke 24:5b-6a.  I grew up in church, so I have heard this story countless times growing up in Sunday School, in church, and in musicals/dramas.  Yet this story still continues to make my heart leap at the amazing victory Christ has over death.  Please look up what Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:55-57.  The victory Christ has over death has also been given to us!  Ephesians 2:4-5 (NLT) says, "But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God's grace that you have been saved)."  We have all sinned and were dying a spiritual death, but God made a way to conquer that death and give us new life.  To obtain God's grace, we believe.  John 3:16-17 says, "For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.  God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him."  If this message is new to you and you want the life and victory that is promised to you, please look to the right side of this page and scroll down until you see the heading "Want to know more about God's love for you?"  There is a prayer you can pray and if you click "yes" it will take you to a sight that will help you find a church near you.

God loves you so much that He made a way for you to live.  As we believe in Him, He changes our hearts and gives us new desires that honor Him.  As our faith grows, we see ourselves living out our faith and reaching out to others.  We live in a hurting and dying world and God wants us to be His light and share His victory with others.  Be encouraged in the victory you have; 1 Corinthians 15:58 says, "Therefore my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm.  Let nothing move you.  Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
