Merry Christmas! The entire story of Christ's birth in a very broken world is so beautiful. Our God is not a distant God who watches things from afar without a care; He is a God who cares and loves us and chose to live among us. If you have any question as to who Jesus is, please read Philippians 2:5-11 or read His own words in John 10:27-30. As Matthew wrote in Matthew 1:22-23, "All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet: “Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’” How amazing it is that He came to earth to be Immanuel - God With Us. Let's read through that glorious event in Luke 2:1-20.
There really isn't much more I can say! It is such a simple story of our Savior humbling Himself by coming to be with us as a baby. Once more, I love how God chose shepherds to spread the message of the Messiah and not the priests and highly educated. He chose the average person because He came for all people.
May you be blessed as you go to worship at a local church tonight!
